Various codes, graphic marks, parameters, two-dimensional codes and other graphic marks are often printed on the circuit board. There are many disadvantages in traditional silk printing. In order to achieve quality control in the production process of PCB boards, marking characters, barcodes, two-dimensional codes and other information on PCB boards for traceability has become the development trend of the industry.


With the rapid development of electronic product manufacturing technology, portable electronic products are increasingly developing in the direction of miniaturization, high integration and portability. Coupled with the development of packaging technology, pads and spacing are getting smaller and smaller, making printing alignment more difficult. The pcb laser engraving machine realizes the precision marking of the circuit board with its accuracy and flexibility, which can overcome the technical defects of screen printing such as easy falling off and low processing accuracy, and will play a pivotal role in the PCB board industry!

There are two main ways of marking on the pcb board: screen printing and laser marking.

The traditional screen printing process uses the prepared graphic screen, and uses external pressure to make the character ink penetrate through some meshes of the screen, and miss printing on the surface of the circuit board. The rest of the meshes on the screen will be blocked, and the ink will not penetrate, and only blanks will be formed on the surface of the circuit board, and the missing ink will form text, logos, patterns, etc. This processing method is relatively cheap and fast, but it has the disadvantages of rough marking effect, easy falling off of markings, inability to mark PCB boards with small format, and certain toxicity of chemical raw materials.

Laser marking uses a high-energy-density laser to locally irradiate the PCB to vaporize or discolor the surface material, thereby leaving a permanent mark. This non-contact processing can mark a very clear QR code on a very small format, ensuring high precision and high quality. At the same time, the laser marking will not be worn due to high and low temperature, acid-base changes and external friction, and does not require chemical assistance, and has no negative effect on personnel safety and the environment.

In the laser marking and lettering application of pcb board, the most used are UV laser marking and CO2 laser marking. Ultraviolet laser marking and CO2 laser marking have become the preferred technology for surface marking of PCB boards due to their low thermal impact, good processing effect, high precision and fast speed.
